The Bolts made the trip to Nottingham to face the Sheriffs in the return game and played on the big pad in the motorpoint arena.

Unfortunately the Sheriffs Nettie didn’t make the journey which meant that Bolts had to play 3 bar to score whereas Bolts Nettie Sy Stevens had to face the Sheriffs.

The first period started slowly with the Bolts adjusting to the differing scoring method and scored first But then Finnish import Miika “RPG” Ilkko took a 2 minute penalty for tripping and and just as he returned to the ice the Sheriffs levelled the score at one a piece. That was the last goal the Sheriffs were to score and the period ended 2 – 1 with Crichton-Smith and Hall the Bolts scorers.

The second period score didn’t really reflect the dominance Bolts had but the team passed the puck well and had control at all times with little pressure being but on nettie Stevens who only faced about 20 shots the whole game. The second period ended 3 – 1 with a solitary Steve Greenaway goal.

The third period was a more lively affair with several penalties but goals galore. Mark “lumberjack” Thornton spent 6 minutes with the Nottingham penalty box girls eating sweets after two over exuberant tripping penalties and a checking call where he couldn’t move out of the way and the incoming skater didn’t keep his head up.

The penalty kill was never really troubled and scorers Crichton-Smith, Hall, Greenaway and Obhukov brought the game to a close with the score finishing 8 – 1.
