This the Friday sees the Milton Keynes Bolts host the Basingstoke Hyenas in what will be the first meeting of the two teams in Bolts short history.

The game will also mark the start of The Access Group Challenge Cup, a cup competition with both round robin and playoffs honours up for grabs, all of which the six evenly matched teams will have an eager eye on. Milton Keynes Bolts are new to cup competitions, but Hyenas, who had success in last years Linemate Challenge Cup will be no stranger.

With both clubs knowing little about each other, we are expecting a good, hard fought game between two teams that no doubt will want to get their campaign off to a winning start.

The Bolts returned from Coventry with a 2-6 win against a very good Coventry Cobras side. Possibly the best team performance yet from the Bolts, who took an early lead and managed to pull together and weather the storm when the Cobras turned it up. A game enjoyed on both ends of the ice, this was only a taster of what’s bound to be a great series of games between the two teams in the Access Group challenge cup.

Jay Bazzone had a standout performance, keeping the puck out of his net until mid way in the 3rd period, Captain Paul Price picked up a hat trick with goals also coming Stu Haynes and Anatoly Obukhov.

Friday 17th December The Bolts travel to Coventry to take on the Cobras in a return game. The last time the two teams met The Bolts got a 10-6 win in a very hard fought game. This is set to be a tough game!
